Mozzarella coated in breadcrumbs

Ariane, if you’re reading this, this recipe is for you ;)

This week, I tried mozzarella coated in breadcrumbs! The result was really good: quick recipe, that you can mix as you wish with different kinds of seasonings; in the end you get these small melting delicious things, warm and crunchy.

I won’t keep you waiting any longer, here is the recipe for slightly less than ten “mozzarella nuggets”:
    • 250g mozzarella
    • 1 egg
    • Some flour
    • Some breadcrumbs
    • Some spices you like: chili pepper in this case
    • Salt, pepper

Start by cutting the mozzarella in about 1cm slices. Put them on some paper towels and then cover them with some more. Slightly press to extract the liquid.

In a first container, mix the flour, the salt, the pepper and the spices you’ve chosen. Whip the egg into a second container and pour some breadcrumbs into a third one.

Then, put each mozzarella slice into each container: the flour, the egg and complete with the breadcrumbs.

      COOKING

Heat some olive oil in a hot frying pan. Brown the nuggets into it, about 30 seconds on each side. Be careful to not cook them for too long otherwise the mozzarella will "leak".

      SERVING SUGGESTIONS

Serve the mozzarella as soon as it is cooked in order to keep the cheese melted!
I would advise you to serve some salad and raw vegetables to accompany the nuggets but you can also cook some French fries ;)

Don’t forget sauces! Hot sauce, tomato paste, mustard, etc.

      TIPS AND TRICKS

Next time I will also try to season the breadcrumbs with the chosen spices in order to increase the flavors.

Thanks to Djouza who strongly inspired me this time, thanks to Ada for her precious help with the translation and “bon appétit” blogger friends :)
