A short article to show you the inspiration I got for my lunch: a tuna & smoked salmon salad. I don’t grow tired of those flavors and with a careful presentation, it tasted even better ^^. And I have to admit it, all this for finishing some leftovers, life is great, right?
To prepare this light salad, you will need:
- One slice of sandwich bread
- 2 slices of smoked salmon
- Some tuna from a tin can
- 1 tomato
- Some green salad
- A few capers
For the seasoning
- A little bit of lemon
- Some mayonnaise
- Some mustard
- Some vinaigrette (mustard, red wine vinegar, nut oil in that case)
And some imagination for the presentation ;)
Start by mixing tuna with mayonnaise and mustard. Then make 2 circles of sandwich bread with the slice of sandwich bread (use a pastry cutter if you have one). Spread a first circle with the tuna-mayonnaise mixing. Add a few capers and close with the left circle.
Presentation
Cover most of the part of your plate with some green salad.
Put the mini tuna sandwich on the side. Add a smoked salmon slice on top of it (I tried to fold it as much as I could :p)
On the green salad, put one thick tomato slice. You can put the tuna-mayonnaise mixing you have left on top of it. Add the left smoked salmon slice and a small piece of lemon.
Sprinkle with some capers and add some vinaigrette on the salad.
And it's done!
SERVING SUGGESTIONS
You can serve this small salad as a starter or as a main course with a big dessert after (guess what I chose ^^).
See you soon for the dessert ;)
Rose.
